FG appointments: Era of `Godfatherism’ over - Lai Mohammed

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said that as far as Federal Government appointments to public offices and key positions are concerned, the era of “godfatherism’’ is over.

The minister stated this in Abuja on Sunday at a thanksgiving reception by the newly appointed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Culture, Ms Grace Gekpe.

Mohammed, who was represented by Mr Bayo Onanuga, the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), stated that appointment to positions in the Federal Government “is strictly by merit’’.

“Gone are those days when people were appointed into positions by other factors apart from merit.

“Most of us must have heard that the new permanent secretaries were asked to write examination; Gekpe was one of the very few that scaled through the examination.

Gekpe is a shining and beautiful woman. That could have earned her the appointment, but not under this regime of Change. “She is a permanent secretary by virtue of hard work, merit and because she has a lot of things to offer,’’ he said.

The minister said that the ministry was proud of Gekpe, satisfied with her appointment and wished her all the best. Mohammed underscored the need for improved funding for the Ministry of Information and Culture and its parastatal agencies.

“The Ministry of Information and Culture has a very big responsibility and there is the need for sufficient funding for it and its agencies. “The government is doing a lot of things, but it is being misrepresented by naysayers.

“This is the time that the government needed to raise an army of competent information managers to counter the false and negative narratives about the administration,’’ he said.

He also underscored the need for upward review of the retirement age of journalists working in the Ministry of Information. “They are like judges and university professors; like old wine, they get better with age,’’ he added.

The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita, said the position of permanent secretary “is the highest level any civil servant can dream to reach in the public service’’.

She enjoined Gekpe to present her life and tenure to God for wisdom and guidance and as well show understanding and loyalty to her minister and the administration.

Oyo-Ita said: “She is called to serve the nation and in doing this, she should face her duties with dignity, integrity and understanding that this is a government of change, it cannot be business as usual.

“She has to be an epitome of incorruptibility, she should be efficient, productive, and be a citizen centred- permanent secretary’’. In a brief remark, Gekpe said her appointment was a call to serve the country.

She pledged to discharge her responsibilities with the fear of God and in support of the government’s programmes. “I will put in my best to assist my immediate boss, the minister, and the government at large to achieve the agenda set for the country,’’ she said.

NAN reports that a thanksgiving service was held at the Living Faith Church, Jahi District, before the reception.

The event was attended by heads of parastatals and agencies in the Ministry of Information and Culture and representatives of the Government of Cross River.

‘Am Afraid Of Getting Old’ – Actress Undergoes 40 Plastic Surgeries, Injects Herself With Ancient 3.5Million Year Old Bacteria In A Bid To Stay Young Forever

An actress is risking her life for ‘eternal youth’ by injecting herself with doses of a 3.5 million year-old bacteria discovered in Siberia.

The 45-year-old from Munich, Germany, who goes by the moniker Manoush, has been pumping an extract of Bacillus F into her blood stream for the past three months and says it has made her look and feel younger.

The ancient bacteria was discovered in the permafrost of north-west Russia by scientists in 2009 and some have hailed it a ‘scientific sensation’.

The team, who unlocked its DNA code in 2015, say that unlike most cells in nature, Bacillus F shows no signs of aging and believe it could hold the key to unlocking improved human health and longevity.

Samples containing extracts of the bacteria have been given to Manoush by Doctor Anatoli Brouchkov, head of the Geocryology Department at Moscow State University.

The injections are just the latest in a longline of procedures for mother-of-one Manoush who has already spent £36,800 (€41,700) on plastic surgery over the last 20 years.

‘My skin is as soft as a baby’s bottom,’ she said. ‘You can’t really see it in the photos but if you see me in person you can see there are no marks or blemishes.

‘I have never felt better. I have never slept better, deeper or longer.

‘When I work out I can workout longer. I can run three miles instead of the usual two miles.

‘I think my skin looks good. These are just the little things that have got better.’

She added: ‘This summer we had huge temperature changes and normally I would get a cold. I didn’t this time.

‘I can’t prove that it is because I have been injecting this bacteria. It could be other reasons but I do believe that it is the effects of using the bacteria on myself.’

Manoush, had blood tests taken before she started injecting Bacillus F on July 22, so that they can be analysed along with blood samples she’s having each month.

The sample was given to her by Doctor Anatoli Brouchkov, head of the Geocryology Department at Moscow State University, at a meeting in London.

As the procedure is experimental, no doctor would inject her, and would most likely lose their license.

Instead she performed the procedure herself, with friends and a local doctor there for support in case of an emergency.

Manoush, who has appeared in niche horror movies such as Cannibal and Seed 2, said: ‘Dr Brouchkov has been taking this for years now and he has fabulous skin, like a young man. He is doing me a big favor, he is doing science a favor. I am happy to be a part of this.

‘My family is absolutely against this. They are going up and down the wall about this. They refuse to have anything to do with it.

‘Sometimes I look in the mirror and think I am a freak – but I know what I am doing to myself. This is all planned and I am not planning on stopping.

‘Some people can’t accept that for me when it comes to anti-aging there are no limits.

‘This is not going to make me 20 years younger. But I think it will help me live to 80 or 90 and age as disgracefully as I can in artificial health and beauty.

‘I want to die in a fully functional body and if this helps then it would have all been worth it.’

With no adverse reaction during the initial injection, she has been ‘shooting up’ every two weeks and is hoping to up the dosage and frequency soon.

She said: ‘There is no knowing what effects this may have in the long-term – but no risk, no success.

‘I want to see what happens when you use more of the material. How does it work?’

Manoush doesn’t believe the injections will give her eternal life but hopes it will help her achieve her of ‘dropping dead at 90 looking half that age or younger’.

Over the last 20 years she has had more than 40 cosmetic procedures, including breast implants, face lifts and nose jobs.

Flood sacks 12 communities, destroys 3,000 farmlands in Cross River

Twelve communities in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River have been flooded following two days of heavy rain, while more than 3,000 farmlands were equally destroyed.

The incident, which occurred between the late hours of Sept. 18 and the early hours of Sept. 19, has rendered hundreds of residents homeless as properties worth millions of naira were destroyed.

Mr John Inaku, the Director General, Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), told NAN on Sunday, during an inspection of the affected areas that the economic survival of residents of the submerged communities had been seriously affected.

Inaku stated that more than 1,000 people have been displaced and are taking refuge in nearby communities.

According to him, the state government has promised to address the plight of the people.

NAN reports that some of the communities affected are Bago, Unu, Bagabo, Bakie, Bufua, and Kakwe-Beebo.

“The deluge of Sept. 18 and 19 has caused massive flooding in 12 communities in Cross River.

“Properties worth millions of naira were equally destroyed in the process.

“The flood also destroyed farmlands; crops such as banana, cassava, plantain, yam, cocoa and others were also affected while some bridges were washed away.

“The worst aspect of the flood is that it also destroyed streams which served as the only source of drinking water for the people, while the main access road was washed away as a result of landslide,’’ he said.

One of the victims, Mr Bette Obi, Chairman of Cross River Forestry Commission, told NAN that the flood had wreaked serious havoc on residents of the area.

Obi, who said his cocoa and plantain farms were destroyed by the flood, appealed to the state and Federal Government to come to their aid.

“As we speak, our farmlands have been washed away by flood. The streams where we fetch water for drinking has been polluted.

“We urgently need government’s assistance in our communities to ameliorate our plights,’’ Obi said.

Another victim, Mr Gabriel Ofre, traditional ruler of Bago community, said that the flood had displaced his entire household, and that his property and other vital materials destroyed as well.

Ofre appealed to SEMA and NEMA to come to their aid, saying that residents of the area were peasant farmers, who lived on the meagre earnings from their farm produce.

IDPs in Maiduguri demands return to Bama

IDPs. PHOTO: blogs.cfr.org

The Bama Initiative for Human Development, an NGO, on Sunday in Maiduguri staged a peaceful demonstration demanding the return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to their respective communities in Bama.

The group’s Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Hassan, said that the IDPs would want to return and continue their normal activities in view of the prevailing peace in the state.

Hassan noted that about 70 per cent of the reconstruction and rehabilitation projects had been completed in the area, saying that they were tired of living as displaced persons.

“We are in Maiduguri for more than three years without meaningful means of livelihoods. The condition of our people is pathetic.

“The elongation in the process of returning displaced persons to their homes is moving at a snail pace and exposed them to unbearable conditions.

“We could no longer send our children to school; many have died of hunger and starvation. Most of us live in host communities and no one is supporting us,” Hassan stated.

He said that most of them were traumatised, coupled with serious neglect and poor living condition, adding that they are ready to trek back to Bama.

The Police, however, stopped the demonstrators from embarking on the trek and urged them to drop the idea because of safety.

Mr Damian Chukwu, the Police Commissioner in the state, said that the group had not notified the command over their planned return to Bama.

He advised the IDPs to dialogue with the state government and other stakeholders over their demand so that adequate preparations would be made.

“The police have a duty to protect you and we will not allow you to gather people and expose them to danger in the name of home return.

“Also, there is massive reconstruction and rehabilitation works going on in the town, executed by the Federal and State Government under the Bama Initiative.

“We will not allow you to go because of your safety, you better go back and wait for the time when government will permit your return to the town,” he said.

In his reaction, Gov. Kashim Shettima urged the IDPs to cooperate with government to fast-track the completion of rehabilitation projects in the town.

Malam Isa Gusau, the Special Adviser to the governor, Communication and Media Strategy made this known in a statement issued in Maiduguri.

“It is to the government’s advantage if IDPs return home because their return will lessen economic burden of supporting them as displaced persons.

“The greatest wish of the governor is the safe and dignified return of all IDPs to their communities. Much as he wants the IDPs to return, he is also concerned about their safety.

“Gov. Shettima is consistently committed to the ongoing rebuilding of private homes, police stations, hospitals, schools, water facilities, markets, council secretariats and other essential services in communities across 15 local government areas of the state,’’ he said.

Gusau explained that government had constructed 20,000 housing units in Bama and provided modern health facilities, schools and police stations in the area.

He added that the Federal Government was currently training a special Anti-Terrorism Squad and Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) to be deployed to the town under the Bama Initiative.

The spokesman added that the special squad and the agro-rangers, specifically trained to secure farmers in their farmlands would replace the military.

“We have to ensure that there is full return of civil security before IDPs can return.

“The governor encourages safe and dignified return only after putting the right things in place,” Gusau said.

According to him, the state government had re-built houses and re-settled displaced persons in parts of Kaga, Konduga and Gwoza Local Government Areas of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that thousands of persons were forced to flee their homes when the Boko Haram insurgents sacked Bama town in 2014.

Hundreds of people were killed, maimed or abducted while the entire structures in the town were razed by the insurgents.

Nigeria says trial of Boko Haram suspects trial to start next month

Boko Haram suspects

Nigeria will begin trying Boko Haram suspects detained in military camps from next month and the cases will be speedily handled, the justice ministry said on Sunday.

It said poor investigation and logistical problems had been responsible for the delay in prosecuting suspects.

"All is now set to begin the arraignment of suspected Boko Haram suspects in various detention facilities in the country," a statement said, adding that this would start on October 9.

Justice Minister Abubakar Malami has assigned government prosecutors while defence counsels would be provided by the Legal Aid Council, it said.

The ministry said 1,600 detainees will be tried early next month, adding that judges who would "expeditiously" handle the cases had been chosen.

Despite claims by the Nigerian security forces that thousands of Boko Haram suspects have been arrested and were in custody, diligent prosecutions and convictions have been rare.

The most high-profile case currently in court is that of Khalid al-Barnawi, a leader of the moribund Boko Haram offshoot, Ansaru, on charges of abducting and murdering a number of foreign workers.

Nigeria's military and government maintain Boko Haram has become a spent force after more than two years of sustained counter-insurgency operations, including with neighbouring Cameroon, Chad and Niger.

But continued attacks, particularly in hard-to-reach rural areas, suggest claims of outright victory are premature.

Boko Haram which seeks to impose a strict Islamic legal system in Nigeria's mainly-Muslim north has killed at least 20,000 people and forced some 2.6 million others to flee their homes since 2009, sparking a dire humanitarian crisis in the region.

“I Buy Phones From Armed Robbers To Resell As London Used” – Lagos Phone Dealer Confesses

Operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a phone dealer who specialised in buying stolen mobile phones from armed robbers and ‘one chance’ gangs then sell them as London used phones to unsuspecting members of the public.

The suspect, Jamiu Adebayo, 30, was tracked and arrested with an iphone 7 belonging to one Kolade Johnson, a banker working in Lagos Island.

Johnson, had on August 23 boarded a one chance commercial bus around 5:45 a:m of his way to work. The robbers, operating with the commercial bus dispossessed him of a laptop, 2 phones, one of which was traced to Adebayo while trying to sell it to a customer in Lagos Island.

Also found in the bag of the suspect were 6 additional iphones, 4 assorted phones and three MTN sim packs, which he stated he collected from some of the robbers.

Adebayo, an erstwhile NURTW member in Ajah, stated that he went into sale of cloth after raising enough money. He added that it was here he ventured into fairly used phone sales.

The suspect noted that he regularly bought stolen phones from three people who he is aware are members of armed robbery and one chance gangs.

“Uche, Alubi and Pinheiro are three major guys I collect these phones from. I buy iphone 7 with icloud N45,000 and sell N55,000. Those without icloud, I buy N150,000 and sell N180,000. .

I buy iphone 6 N65,000. I buy Samsung phones N22,000 and sell N27,000. I sell other phones too. I work on the phones and disguise them as London used phones,” he explained.

Uche, Pinheiro and Alubi have been on the run since the arrest of Adebayo last week

Photos: 18-year-old Student Invents ‘ElectroShoe’ That Lets Women Electrocute Rapists

Sexual assault against women is a really big problem, as hardly a day goes by without a case being reported in the media. An 18-year-old teenage boy is trying to help women fight back against aggressors by literally giving them the shock of their life.

After witnessing multiple instances of disturbing and life-changing acts of violence against women, as well as attending many protests with his mother demanding change, Siddharth Mandala, a student from Telengana, India decided he needed to do something himself.

He spent years working on the “ElectroShoe”, a unique type of anti-sexual assault footwear that electrocutes attackers by inflicting 0.1 Ampere of electricity while also alerting police and family members that the wearer is in danger. All the wearer has to do is kick the perpetrator.

“I invented a patent-pending device called ElectroShoe. It can electrocute the perpetrator instantly by inflicting 0.1 Ampere of electricity, while sending an alert for assistance to cops and family members,” Siddharth told The Better India.

“To accomplish this, I created a unique circuit board that uses footsteps to charge itself with the help of a concept called the ‘piezoelectric effect’ which I learned in my physics class. The more the user walks, the more energy is generated and stored in a rechargeable battery.”

Despite having no higher education in technology or science, Mandala valiantly attempted to develop the shoe on his own, but after suffering several shocks himself, he realized he needed to seek help from professionals. Over the years, Mandala had to pester programmers and engineers, both online and offline, in order to get the answer he needed, and admits that many were so fed up with his questions that they stopped responding. However, after 17 failed prototype, he finally came up with a viable version, ODD Central reports.

“While experimenting, I faced electrocution twice, and my friend Abhishek even developed a nosebleed,” the 17-year-old said. “But whenever I felt like giving up, I remembered my favorite inventor Thomas Edison’s words, ‘I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light-bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.’”

The ElectroShoe is still in it’s developmental stage and is unfortunately not available to purchase just yet. Mandala has a few kinks left to work out and he still has to find a way to make the invention work with shoe styles other than flip-flops, but he has filed a patent and plans to market the ElectroShoe soon.

In the meantime, Mandala has become very enthusiastic about pursuing an education and subsequent career in science and technology in order to keep creating innovative crime-prevention products. He has also become an activist and set up his own NGO to spread awareness about sexual assault and volunteers teaching children basic coding. Mandala is truly an inspiration and his invention is a beacon of hope for women who are tired of walking the streets in fear.

APDA lauds CJN’s order on special courts for corruption cases

Justice Walter Onnoghen

The Advanced People’s Democratic Alliance (APDA) has commended the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Walter Onnoghen, on his order that special courts be established for corruption-related cases.

The party in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Tosin Adeyanju, also applauded the whistle blower policy of the Federal Government.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria had directed heads of various divisions of courts to establish a special court to tackle the delay in the hearing and determination of corruption and financial crime cases.

Onnoghen also directed heads of courts to compile and forward to the National Judicial Council (NJC) comprehensive lists of all corruption and financial crime cases they are handling.

APDA stated that the establishment of such special courts would help to fast track trial of corruption cases in the country.

“The APDA lends its support to the Nigerian Judiciary under the headship of the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Walter Onnoghen.

“We commend Onnoghen and the Federal government by extension for the historic policy of establishing special courts to fast track the trial of corruption cases in our fatherland.

“The APDA also wishes to commend the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, for his unrelenting effort to bring all the persons who looted or aided in looting our commonwealth to justice.

“We are of the unrepentant stance that corruption is the biggest challenge to the sustainable development of our country.

“Only its eradication can return our nation back to the path of development, national cohesion and social inclusiveness.”

APDA urged all Nigerians to stand up and expose corruption and corrupt practices in all ramifications.

It commended Nigerians who spoke against the agents of destabilisation, while urging them to stand together and work towards a united, peaceful and prosperous nation.

“APDA rejects hate speech and hateful conduct

“We urge the relevant agencies to resist agents and promoters of hate speech, impunity and disregard for our ethics and values.’’

The party also urged all Nigerians to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and ensure that only credible persons were voted into positions of public trust.

*Good morning beautiful People of God(ROR)
SPEAK TO THE STORM•• _*And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm (Mark 4:39).*_
God doesn’t want you to go through life as though you’re helpless and handicapped. Rather, He wants you to take charge and do something with your life, and about your situation. You should make things happen in your life.
You might be crying, “Lord, don’t you see my situation? Do something!” No, you’re the one to do something, because He’s given you the power. Act like Jesus. He
calmed the storms with words. He said to the raging tempest, “Peace, be still” and there was a great calm.
Perhaps for some reason, you find yourself agitated and fearful about a situation, what you should do is simple: Put your right hand on your chest and say, “Calm down in the Name of Jesus,” and His peace will overwhelm your soul.
The disciples were sore afraid when the winds became boisterous, and the water was getting into the boat. They came to Jesus and said, “Master, don’t you care that we perish?” Jesus said to them, “Where is your faith?” In other words, “Why are you terrified? I’m right here. I’m your peace.” They had “Peace” with them in the boat, for He’s the peace of Israel, and He’s our peace today.

Refuse to fear. Christ is your peace, and He lives in you. He’s God’s Word. He’s the “Logos” of God. When you speak, Jesus—the Word—is manifested. So when you need to calm any storm, you don’t have to try to “wake Him up,” like the disciples did; you speak His Word.
No wonder the Bible says, _*“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly…”*_ (Colossians 3:16). Jesus said, _*“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will…”*_ (John 15:7). What do you want? Don’t complain; don’t beg; speak the Word. Ask and receive. Hallelujah!

FG begins emergency rehabilitation of roads and bridges in Lagos

PHOTO: Jumia travel

The Federal Government has begun emergency and remedial repair of some major roads and bridges in Lagos State, the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Mr Godwin Eke, said on Sunday.

Eke told journalists in Lagos that some of the bad roads required urgent attention and that the Federal Government was determined to make all federal roads across the country motorable.

He stated that repair work on some of the roads have been completed while others are still ongoing.

The controller explained that remedial work on both carriageways of Apongbon Bridge undulations had been completed.

According to him, the repair work was completed speedily because the contractors worked at night.

He identified the ongoing emergency repair projects as repairs on Ijora Causeway, Ijora Flyover (East Link), Funsho Williams Avenue, replacement of 1 N (one number) expansion joint on Eko Bridge, Costain Roundabout to Eko Bridge Ramp and Costain to Iganmu Bridge (Orile Bound).

Some others are: Funsho Williams Bridge to Alaka, Carter Bridge Roundabout to LAWMA Junction (Eko Bridge Bound Carriageway), Herbert Macaulay Way (Jibowu Junction to Adekunle Junction) and Outer Marina to Ahmadu Bellow way (From Apongbon Bridge to Bonny Camp).

Also listed are: Falomo Roundabout through Kingsway Road to Osbourne Road, Apapa Road to Western Avenue (Between Iganmu Bridge Ramp and Western Avenue Bridge Ramp (Alaka Bound Carriageway), Apapa Road towards Iganmu Bridge (Orile Bound) which were receiving attention.

Eke said that Ijora Olopa to Ijora7Up (Beside Oloye Nursery and Primary School (Ijora Olopa Bound), Alaka to Apongbon through Eko Bridge (both carriageways) and Onikan Junction through Independent Bridge to Apongbon Bridge (Apongbon Bound) were undergoing repairs.

According to him, the follwing roads – Lagos Island/General Hospital to Apongbon; Onikan/Lagos Island to Apongbon through Apongbon Bridge/CMS (CMS Bound); Eko Bridge Approach to Ijora; Ijora to Apapa Road through underneath Iganmu Flyover (Costain Bound) and the National Theatre Train Station to Costain (Costain Bound) were being worked on.

He said that government was working assiduously to conclude plans for other roads not yet captured.

He, therefore, appealed to Lagos State residents to be patient with the government as repair work would soon reach those roads not captured earlier.

“Due to paucity of funds government cannot repair all the roads at the same time,” he said.

Earlier, the controller had said that the bids for the repair of the Apapa Oshodi/Tin Can Island Road was passing through the procurement process and that government was planning to reconstruct the network of roads on the Apapa/Tin Can Island/Oshodi road corridor to reduce congestion to the barest minimum.

“We will carry out some palliatives as soon as the procurement process is concluded.

“The high water table in Apapa requires proper design and adoption of rigid pavement to ensure longevity of our roads,” Eke said.

Women Arrested For Publicly Fighting Over Man For Sex In Lagos

The police at Ikotun Division have arrested two women and detained them at the station while the third suspect escaped, for their unruly behaviour by publicly fighting over a man for sex in Lagos.

The incident happened at a popular joint at Governor’s Road by Landmog Bus Stop in Ikotun area of Lagos State. The suspects identified as Amaka, Chioma and Blessing were said to have engaged in a public brawl after a customer who came to drink at the joint indicated interested to take a woman home.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the three women indicated interest at the same time and were said to have scrambled for the man to the embarrassment of other customers at the joint. However, the scrambling turned to full blown fight and fracas after the man chose Blessing to the astonishment of Amaka and Chioma.

It was gathered that Chioma and Amaka protested and told the man that he cannot take Blessing because men had been sleeping with her for some days while the two of them have not had any sex for days and had not made any money for those days. They reportedly suggested that the man should agree to take the three of them at the same time since he could afford to take care of them.

The man agreed but Blessing rejected the idea and said she was not ready for such arrangement because she would deliver the services the man would want alone. The argument resulted in hot exchange words and degenerated later to a fight among the three women.

Some of the properties at the jointed were damaged during the fight. The manager of the joint then had to contact the police and the suspects were arrested and taken to the station. At the station, the suspects told the police that Blessing had taken the few customers that came to the joint to solicit for sex at their own detriment and she had refused sharing the only man that agreed to take three of them for the romp.

When P.M.EXPRESS visited Ikotun Police Division, the suspects were still detained there but the DPO was not around to comment on the matter. However, police sources said the suspects will be charged to court for their alleged conduct in the area. It was gathered that Blessing has been on the run after the fight, while the man in question abandoned them and settled for another woman.

Photos: The Rock Dwayne Johnson Posts Inspiring Encounter With Man He Met Who Was Born With One Arm And No Legs

American actor and wrestling star, Dwayne Johnson popularly known as ‘The Rock’ met, Nick Santonastasso, a motivational speaker born with one arm and no legs.

He had this to say;

Power of choice.
Think about this one for a second…. @nicksanto534 was born with one arm and no legs. In his mind, there’s nothing he can’t do… and he’s right. He’s right because he does everything he sets his mind to. Competed as an amateur wrestler, motivational speaker, trains like a beast and today (Sat 9/23) he competes in his first bodybuilding contest.
We chatted after my workout about the power of choice. He said, I could’ve been pissed at the world for being born like this, but instead I choose to live life to the fullest, be happy and crush everything I put my mind to and hopefully, I can inspire people to do the same.
Yes sir.

“We Don’t See IPOB As Terrorist Organisation” – US

The U.S Government has said it does not consider the Indigenous People of Biafra a terrorist organisation, punchng reports.

Last week, the Federal High Court in Abuja gave a judicial backing the executive order of Pres. Buhari, outlawing the group and its activities in the country. The court granted the order to proscribe the group on Wednesday.

It declared that the activities of the group constituted acts of terrorism. The FG also accused France and the United Kingdom of aiding IPOB activities.

The spokesman for the American Embassy in Nigeria, Russell Brooks, however, told Punchng, on Friday, that the US government does not view IPOB as a terrorist group.

He said this in response to an email which asked if the United States sees IPOB as a terrorist organisation. Brooks stated further that the US was committed to Nigeria’s unity and would support a peaceful resolution of any crisis in the country.

He said, “The United States Government is strongly committed to Nigeria’s unity. Important political and economic issues affecting the Nigerian people, such as the allocation of resources, are worthwhile topics for respectful debate in a democracy.

Within the context of unity, we encourage all Nigerians to support a de-escalation of tensions and peaceful resolution of grievances. The Indigenous People of Biafra is not a terrorist organisation under US law.”
