ENTERTAINMENT: Startimes social media handler: Funny or unprofessional?

The pay-TV market in Nigeria is becoming incredibly competitive with DSTV reigning supreme, and the new entrant TSTV putting its older rivals on their toes.

Consequently, Oluwaseun, the new StarTimes Social Media handler had a Tweetchat with followers and some of her interactions with them are in between hilarious and unprofessional, well we will let you decide.

A Twitter user decided to ask why the management decided to remove a station from airing: “why did the management removed Get TV from the list of stations showing on star times.”..

…and the response was; “Bros, na only Get TV u dey watch for our platform?”

Another user declared: “Your subscribers are not here. They are busy watching Indian Soap.”.. and the handler replied: “Atleast they are busy doing something, what are you doing?”

A user, Emmanuel usoro queried; “Your video quality is not too good. What is the plan to improve on it”.. and the handler replied: “Bros na antenna you dey use abi? Upgrade to dish”

Then the shade for TSTV came when a user asked: “Why can’t startimes give us Wifi like TSTV promised”.. and the response was: “We are a pay TV operator. We don’t run a cyber cafe nor make empty promises.”

Read some of her responses below...

Champions League: Chelsea snatch draw as Man Utd edge Benfica

Chelsea's Eden Hazard celebrates after scoring during their match against Roma at Stamford Bridge in London on October 18, 2017

Chelsea were grateful to Eden Hazard for grabbing a 3-3 draw in a Champions League thriller against Roma on Wednesday, while Manchester United, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Juventus all won.

Chelsea were grateful to Eden Hazard for grabbing a 3-3 draw in a Champions League thriller against Roma on Wednesday, while Manchester United, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Juventus all won.

Hazard headed in his second goal of the night from a Pedro Rodriguez cross with quarter of an hour left at Stamford Bridge to rescue Chelsea after they had earlier blown a two-goal lead against the Italians.

With Carlo Ancelotti, former Chelsea coach and Roma player, watching from the stands, David Luiz curled the English champions into an early lead and Hazard increased their advantage.

But Aleksandar Kolarov pulled one back for Roma before the interval and Edin Dzeko equalised with a stunning volley on 64 minutes before his header put the visitors ahead to the disbelief of the home fans in west London.

Hazard's leveller allowed Chelsea to hold onto top spot in Group C with seven points, two points clear of Roma and five better off than Atletico Madrid.

"It was a difficult game against a good team. We suffered in possession and it wasn't easy in the first half, despite scoring two goals," said Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

Beaten finalists in 2014 and 2016, Atletico could only draw 0-0 in Azerbaijan against Qarabag, who claimed their first ever Champions League point despite having South African striker Dino Ndlovu sent off late on.

Chelsea's draw also ensured that the five English clubs in the competition all picked up points this midweek, with United grinding out a 1-0 victory at Benfica to maintain their perfect record in Group A.

Jose Mourinho was returning to Lisbon to face the club he coached briefly in 2000 but it was Benfica's teenage goalkeeper Mile Svilar who stole the headlines.

The 18-year-old Belgian was handed a start to become the youngest ever goalkeeper in the Champions League and was at fault for the only goal of a flat game.

Svilar was caught out when Marcus Rashford delivered a free-kick from wide on the left on 64 minutes and he could only carry the ball over the line.

Benfica's misery was completed when captain Luisao was sent off in stoppage time.

"I never felt that we could concede a goal. Sometimes I feel to be good defensively is a crime but it is not a crime," said Mourinho.

Basel, who beat pointless Benfica 5-0 last month, followed that with a 2-0 win at CSKA Moscow, Taulant Xhaka and Dimitri Oberlin scoring.

Pique off in Barca win

Barcelona still have a perfect record in Group D as they beat Olympiakos 3-1 despite having Gerard Pique sent off in the first half.

Driving rain meant the mostly uncovered 99,000-capacity Camp Nou was largely empty as it opened to fans for the first time since a violent crackdown of an independence referendum in Catalonia on October 1.

Those who did turn out saw Pique stupidly collect a second yellow card for handling the ball into the net late in the first half.

Barca were already ahead at that point from a Dimitrios Nikolaou own goal and they added further goals in the second half with Lionel Messi netting a free-kick -- his 100th European goal -- and setting up Lucas Digne to score.

Nikolaou pulled one back for the Greeks, who are still pointless.

Juventus are second in the group after coming from behind to beat Sporting Lisbon 2-1 in Turin, with Miralem Pjanic curling in a free-kick to cancel out Alex Sandro's own goal and Mario Mandzukic heading in a late winner.

PSG continued their superb start in Europe this season as their 'MCN' attack all scored in a 4-0 victory at Anderlecht.

Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring inside two minutes and Edinson Cavani headed in the second before the interval.

Neymar's free-kick made it three in the second half, with substitute Angel di Maria completing the rout.

PSG are top of Group B with nine points, three more than Bayern Munich, who eased to a 3-0 victory over Celtic.

The 72-year-old Jupp Heynckes was back in the Bayern dugout and he saw Thomas Mueller, Joshua Kimmich and Mats Hummels all score.

Champions League: 'MCN' all score as PSG thump Anderlecht

Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar

Paris Saint-Germain's front three of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani all scored as the French side romped to a third straight Champions League win by thrashing Anderlecht 4-0 in Brussels on Wednesday.

Paris Saint-Germain's front three of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani all scored as the French side romped to a third straight Champions League win by thrashing Anderlecht 4-0 in Brussels on Wednesday.

Mbappe put PSG ahead inside three minutes and Cavani grabbed his fourth goal in three Champions League outings before half-time.

Neymar scored a free-kick midway through the second period with his ninth goal for the club since his record-breaking move from Barcelona, before Angel Di Maria came off the bench to complete the rout.

Swiss prosecutors opened a corruption probe into PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi last week over the sale of World Cup media rights, but the Qatari was in attendance in Belgium to watch his expensively-assembled side cruise to victory.

The French Ligue 1 leaders are now three points clear of Bayern Munich, who saw off Celtic 3-0 in Germany, at the top of Group B ahead of the home match against bottom side Anderlecht on October 31.

"In the first period it wasn't perfect with the level of control of the match," said PSG coach Unai Emery.

"We were sometimes surprised on the counter-attack, but in the second half we found a better balance.

"The match started very well with that goal in the third minute. But then, for a moment, we lost track. We know there will be no easy games this season."

Spaniard Emery made four changes to the side that stumbled to a 2-1 Ligue 1 win at Dijon on Saturday, with Cavani and Marco Verratti returning to the starting line-up.

PSG scored eight goals in the opening two wins against Celtic and Bayern Munich, and they didn't waste any time in breaking the deadlock on Wednesday.

Close-season signing Mbappe found space inside the area before drilling home his second Champions League goal for the club through goalkeeper Matz Sels' legs from a tight angle.

Anderlecht, bottom of the group after a disappointing 3-0 home defeat by Celtic last time out, grew into the game though as midfielder Sven Kums shot wide.

Paris retained a serious threat going forward to keep their hosts honest, but Neymar and Cavani both missed half-chances.

The away side found a second goal shortly before the interval, with the feted attacking trio of Neymar, Mbappe and Cavani all involved.

World-record signing Neymar's powerful strike from distance was well saved by Sels, but 18-year-old Mbappe headed the rebound back across goal for Cavani to nod in his 12th goal of the season.

Anderlecht were tidy in possession without ever getting in behind the PSG defence, and they were hit on the counter-attack again early in the second half, only for Cavani to rattle the crossbar.

The Uruguayan could have had a hatful of goals as he had two efforts disallowed for offside and also produced a tame chip into the legs of Sels with only the 'keeper to beat before Mbappe blazed the loose ball over a gaping goal.

Neymar ensured that all three of PSG's forwards scored for the second Champions League away match in a row, as the Brazilian rolled a clever free-kick under the wall and into the bottom corner from just outside the box.

Anderlecht went close to a consolation goal as Henry Onyekuru hit the woodwork, but Hein Vanhaezebrouck's men remained pointless and goalless.

Argentinian Di Maria raced clear before dinking in to complete the scoring, as PSG reached the halfway stage of the group having scored 12 goals without reply.

Champions League: Bayern down Celtic on Heynckes' return

Bayern Munich's striker Thomas Mueller (L) celebrates scoring the opening goal with striker Robert Lewandowski during the Champions League match against Celtic on October 18, 2017

Jupp Heynckes enjoyed a successful Champions League return on Wednesday as Bayern Munich got their Group B campaign back on track with a 3-0 home win against Celtic.

Jupp Heynckes enjoyed a successful Champions League return on Wednesday as Bayern Munich got their Group B campaign back on track with a 3-0 home win against Celtic.

Bayern captain Thomas Mueller put the hosts ahead after 17 minutes before Germany defender Joshua Kimmich made it two with a header just before the half-hour mark.

Mats Hummels -- who insisted Bayern cannot currently consider themselves amongst Europe's top teams in an pre-match interview -- completed the win with a header just after the break.

The result leaves Bayern second in the group on six points, three behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain and three clear of third-placed Celtic.

"FC Bayern wants to qualify for the knock-out phase, so it was important for us to get the win," said Heynckes.

"The team did well, even if we didn't convert all our chances."

It had been 1,608 days since Heynckes last took charge of Bayern in Europe when they beat Borussia Dortmund in the 2013 Champions League final.

The 72-year-old came out of a four-year retirement for his fourth stint as Bayern coach after Carlo Ancelotti was sacked in the wake of Bayern's 3-0 drubbing at PSG three weeks ago.

Following Saturday's 5-0 thumping of Freiburg, Bayern have now scored eight goals without reply in Heynckes' first two games.

"The attitude was better, we were motivated after the win at Freiburg and wanted to use the momentum," said Mueller.

"That was an important three points.

"We created a lot of chances in the second half which we should have used."

Mueller back on form

Heynckes started four of the team - David Alaba, Jerome Boateng, Mueller and Arjen Robben - which won the Wembley final four years ago.

He also made a good start to solving the problem which perplexed predecessor Ancelotti of where to play Mueller.

The Germany star was restored to the attacking midfield role, happily roaming just behind Robert Lewandowski, with Thiago Alcantara dropping into defensive midfield.

Key Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic was missing with a hamstring injury, so coach Brendan Rodgers partnered Mikael Lustig with Dedryck Boyata at centre-back.

Captain Scott Brown and former Dundee United midfielder Stuart Armstrong also returned from injury.

Bayern ran riot in the opening six minutes with Lewandowski a constant menace in front of a sell-out 72,000 crowd.

Thiago had a goal disallowed, incorrectly as replays showed the ball had not gone out of play in the build-up, before Lewandowski had a penalty appeal waved away.

Alaba sent a clear chance flying over the bar with 13 minutes gone.

Celtic's defence finally broke on 17 minutes when Lewandowski's header was saved by goalkeeper Craig Gordon, but Mueller smashed home the rebound.

Kimmich grabbed the second with a pin-point header on 29 minutes from Kingsley Coman's floated cross.

It was 2-0 at the break, but Hummels headed Bayern's third goal from the resulting corner after Robben fired over on 52 minutes.

"I was disappointed with the nature of the goals, but there were positives," said Celtic boss Rodgers.

"There was no denying we played against a top-class side and we didn't defend our box well enough when the crosses came in."

Robben, who made his 100th Champions League appearance spanning 16 seasons, had a bullet header cleared off the line with half an hour to go.

"That is a step forwards," said the Dutch winger.

"We want to improve. Not everything is perfect yet, but we are on the right path."

Lewandowski put the ball in the net shortly afterwards, but the goal was chalked off for offside, as Bayern kept the pressure up.

Celtic improved for the final 20 minutes as winger Scott Sinclair also had a goal disallowed for offside just before the final whistle.

Mane: Senegal pick injured striker for World Cup ties

Liverpool's Sadio Mane was among 25 players named by coach Aliou Cisse for crucial back-to-back fixtures with South Africa

Senegal chose Liverpool star Sadio Mane Wednesday for World Cup qualifiers against South Africa next month just eight days after his club said he could be sidelined for six weeks.

Senegal chose Liverpool star Sadio Mane Wednesday for World Cup qualifiers against South Africa next month just eight days after his club said he could be sidelined for six weeks.

The striker was among 25 players named by coach Aliou Cisse for crucial back-to-back fixtures with South Africa.

"Sadio Mane has resumed individual training and will probably resume full training next week," Cisse told reporters.

A Liverpool statement last Tuesday said Mane "picked up an injury that could keep him out of action for up to six weeks".

Mane had to be substituted after suffering a hamstring injury during a 2-0 World Cup victory in Cape Verde this month.

Senegal need two points from matches in Polokwane on November 10 and Dakar on November 14 to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. South Africa will qualify if they win both games.

The Senegalese are seeking a second World Cup appearance after losing to Turkey in the 2002 quarter-finals.

South Africa qualified for the 1998 and 2002 tournaments and were automatic participants in 2010 as the first African nation to host the World Cup.

Champions League: Juventus battle past Sporting

Juventus' goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon celebrates at the end of their match against Sporting CP at the Juventus stadium on October 17, 2017 in Turin

Juventus rallied from a bizarre Alex Sandro own goal to battle past Sporting Lisbon 2-1 on Wednesday and move second behind Barcelona in Champions League Group D.

Juventus rallied from a bizarre Alex Sandro own goal to battle past Sporting Lisbon 2-1 on Wednesday and move second behind Barcelona in Champions League Group D.

The Portuguese visitors surged ahead after 12 minutes in the Allianz Stadium when the ball accidentally bounced off the Brazilian left-back and into his own net after Gianluigi Buffon had saved from Gelson Martins.

But Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic hauled the hosts back into the game after 29 minutes before Croatian forward Mario Mandzukic headed in the winner six minutes from time.

Juventus, who lost their opening game 3-0 to Barcelona but beat Olympiakos 2-0 with late goals, are second in Group D behind the Spaniards with six points from three games. Sporting are now third.

"We are not brilliant right now, we have had injuries, others returned from international duty in bad shape so we have work to do," said Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri.

"So it was an important victory. (Gonzalo) Higuain had a great performance today, with character and quality, I'm happy with him. Now we have to start again in Udine to resume the championship race.

"It's never easy to win in the Champions League, we've taken a step forward, but there’s a long way to go and we must try to reconnect, as some of our elements are a bit disconnected.

"It’s one season up to November and another after that. After the next break for international duty is when the Juventus season will really begin."

It was a first win for the Turin club since their victory over Olympiakos as they have been frustrated in Serie A recently.

Italian title-winners in the last six seasons, Juventus lost to Lazio on Saturday -- a first home defeat in over two years -- after being held by Atalanta the previous week.

But they looked to be struggling for form again as they were pushed hard in Turin by a Portuguese side chasing a first win in Italy.

Pjanic -- returning after almost a month out with a thigh problem -- partnered Sami Khedira in midfield with Blaise Matuidi rested before coming on for the last half hour.

After the unfortunate own goal, Higuain's close-range shot five minutes later was blocked before Rui Patricio dived to keep out a Khedira effort.

Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala also missed chances as Juventus poured forward in search of the equaliser.

But Pjanic broke through, sending a free-kick awarded for a Rodrigo Battaglia foul on Pjanic over the wall and into the net.

Mandzukic missed a chance to head in from close range off a pinpoint Higuain cross after an hour.

Sporting goalkeeper Patricio then struggled to deal with Alex Sandro's cross-shot, but Juventus got the winner after Douglas Costa was introduced as a late substitute in place of Stefano Sturaro.

Brazilian winger Costa had been on the pitch for less than a minute when he crossed from the left for Mandzukic to score with a low header at the back post.

"It's the Champions League and we're in a group with Barcelona and Juventus," said Sporting coach Jorge Jesus.

"We showed great qualities and at times I think we were better than Juve. We could have a won. But Mandzukic played well on goal."

"It was a tough game, and an important win," said Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini.

"The important thing was not to concede goals but we didn't dwell on it (the own goal), we showed personality."

Serena Williams’ Shares Adorable New Photos With Her Baby

Champions League: 5 things we learnt from Matchday 3 fixtures

Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar

These are five things we learnt from games played in the Matchday three of this season's Champions League.

Another Champions League week done and dusted after a couple of interesting games in the matchday three of the group stages.

We take a look at five things we learnt from matchday three.

1. English clubs have improved

Still early days but it seems like English sides will have a huge impact in this season’s Champions League campaign. Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham are off to a great start.

Tottenham impressed at the Bernabéu, holding reigning champions Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw, which shows how improved they are this season. No English winner in the Champions League since 2012, is their year, time will tell.

2. Conte still has Champions League blues

Four league titles in his last four seasons in club football, Antonio Conte is now recognised as one of the best coaches in the world. Conte and Juventus dominated Italian football for the three years he stayed at the club and shockingly failed to win the Coppa Italia.

His Juventus team also failed to win the Champions League or even challenge properly and as coach of Italy could only manage to get to the quarter-final of Euro 2016.

Conte clearly has a problem with club competitions and the 3-3 home draw against Roma shows he is not over his cup blues.

Maybe they are just out of form, maybe there is something about club competition that Conte has not figured out, Just maybe, time again will tell.

3. Paris Saint-Germain are favourites

If the signing of Neymar and Kylian Mbappé did not make them favourites for the Champions League title this season, the boisterous manner of their wins so far makes them one. A 5-0 win over Celtic, they beat Bayern Munich 3-0 and thrashed Anderlecht 4-0 on Matchday three, watch out everyone.

4. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo domination continues

Messi and Ronaldo have dominated football in the past decade and it looks like they might continue to do that. Ronaldo’s goal against Tottenham took his Champions League goal tally to 109 while Messi scored in Barcelona’s 3-1 win over Olympiacos to become the second player to reach 100 goals in UEFA club competition. The domination continues.

5. Maribor not enough for the Champions League

All blame on Hapoel Be'er Sheva F.C. who Maribor beat in the play-off to progress to the group stage of the Champions League. Maybe the club from Israel would have been a better challenger.

But Maribor have been very poor so far and their 7-0 loss at home to Liverpool is nothing but disgraceful. Not Champions League quality in any way.

Mark Sampson: Former England women's football coach made 'ill-judged' racial remarks: report

England's head coach Mark Sampson was sacked after FA chiefs were alerted to what it termed an "inappropriate" relationship he had with a player in a previous job

An independent investigator had re-examined all of Aluko's other complaints about Sampson discriminating against her.

Former England women's football coach Mark Sampson made remarks that were "discriminatory on grounds of race" towards two black players but was not racist, a report published on Wednesday said.

Sampson, who guided the team to the semi-finals of the 2015 World Cup and this year's European Championships, was sacked last month after FA chiefs were alerted to what it termed an "inappropriate" relationship he had with a player in a previous job.

That followed weeks of speculation about his position after it emerged he had already been the subject of two FA investigations into allegations of discrimination made by Chelsea striker Eni Aluko.

Independent barrister Katharine Newton concluded in her final report -- published on Wednesday -- that Sampson was not racist, but that he twice made "ill-judged attempts at humour" towards the players.

Newton was called in by the FA in December 2016 to follow up an internal investigation into claims made by Aluko against Sampson.

Aluko issued several allegations but the two central claims were that he made discriminatory remarks to her ahead of an England-Germany game in 2014 and her Chelsea team-mate Drew Spence at a players' meeting in 2015.

Newton's first review, completed in March, backed the FA verdict that there was insufficient evidence to say whether Sampson made the remarks, and cleared him of Aluko's other claims of bullying and racism.

In the conclusion to her reopened investigation into Aluko's claims, Newton said: "I have concluded that on two separate occasions, (Mark Sampson) has made ill-judged attempts at humour, which, as a matter of law, were discriminatory on grounds of race within the meaning of the Equality Act 2010.

"However, that is not the same as concluding that (Sampson) is racist. In fact, I consider it fundamentally important to emphasise that I have not concluded (Sampson) is a racist."

'It's career death'

Newton said she had re-examined all of Aluko's other complaints about Sampson discriminating against her.

On these matters, Newton has not changed her mind and continues to believe Sampson was innocent of bullying or picking on Aluko.

In a statement, FA chief executive Martin Glenn, due to give evidence to the House of Commons digital, culture, media and sport select committee on Wednesday, said: "On behalf of the Football Association I would like to sincerely apologise to Eniola Aluko and Drew Spence.

"Based on new evidence submitted to independent barrister Katharine Newton, she has now found that they were both subject to discriminatory remarks made by an FA employee. This is not acceptable."

Aluko, who previously accepted compensation of £80,000 ($105,000) from the FA, said she felt "vindicated".

The player, speaking to lawmakers at the Commons hearing, said: "My overwhelming emotion is relief. It has been a long process getting to this point.

"I've been put in this situation, and was always honest and truthful about those comments and other comments I made about the culture under Mark Sampson.

"I feel vindicated and relieved, It suggests it was all worth it."

FA Chairman Greg Clarke told the Committee he had never thought about resigning over the affair.

Glenn had received a vote of confidence from the FA Board over his handling of the sacking of Sampson.

"There were systemic, historic failings which contributed to this mess," said Clarke.

"When I took the job, there was one other decent applicant.

"It's career death. I'm willing to risk my reputation to make it better. If it doesn't get better it's my fault."

Hazard: Striker rescues Chelsea in six-goal Roma thriller

Chelsea's midfielder Eden Hazard celebrates after scoring against Roma at Stamford Bridge in London on October 18, 2017

Eden Hazard came to Chelsea's rescue after his side blew a two-goal lead in a dramatic 3-3 draw with Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Eden Hazard came to Chelsea's rescue after his side blew a two-goal lead in a dramatic 3-3 draw with Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Antonio Conte's team looked on course for a comfortable victory at Stamford Bridge thanks to first half goals from David Luiz and Hazard at Stamford Bridge.

But Roma's Aleksandar Kolarov struck before half-time to spark a stirring fightback from the Serie A side.

Former Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko bagged a brace after the interval to give Roma the lead, only for Hazard to spare Chelsea's blushes with a late leveller.

Chelsea remain two points clear of Roma at the top of Group C, but this was the latest in a growing list of alarming displays from the Premier League champions.

Blues boss Antonio Conte reportedly held a lengthy inquest with his squad in the aftermath of Saturday's shock 2-1 loss at Crystal Palace and this erratic performance -- which extended their winless run to three matches -- may well spark another dressing down from the Italian.

After being penned into their own half early on, Chelsea conjured an electric counter, but Alvaro Morata, showing signs of rust after his injury lay-off, shot tamely at Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Roma were undaunted and Diego Perotti galloped forward for a stinging strike that whistled over.

Brazil defender Luiz had been missing in action during that Roma raid, but the part-time midfielder recovered his bearings to put Chelsea ahead in the 11th minute.

Stealing possession inside the Roma half, Luiz initially tried a defence-splitting pass, but when that was blocked, he seized on the rebound and curled a fine first-time finish past Becker from 20 yards.

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan wasted a golden chance to equalise when he shot straight at Thibaut Courtois.

That miss seemed fatal for Roma when Hazard scored Chelsea's second in the 37th minute.

It was Hazard who started the attack, pouncing in midfield and picking out Morata.

While Morata sized up his options, Hazard was sprinting into the Roma area, where he met his team-mate's deft cross with a cool close-range finish.

Warning signs

Hazard's first club goal of the season should have put Chelsea on cruise control, but they remained far from convincing and Roma were back in the game three minutes later.

Kolarov took possession wide on the left edge of the Chelsea area, surged past Cesar Azpilicueta and blasted a fierce strike that deflected in off Andreas Christensen.

Roma had won only once in their 15 games in England, but the way they were bossing possession suggested a memorable escape wasn't out of the question.

The warning signs were there when Courtois was forced to stick out a boot to stop Dzeko converting Kolarov's cross early in the second half.

Conte responded to Chelsea's struggles by sending on Pedro for Luiz and moving Cesc Fabregas into a more defensive midfield role.

But the switch failed to stem the tide and Roma equalised thanks to Dzeko's moment of magic in the 64th minute.

Federico Fazio spotted Dzeko's run and lofted a perfectly-weighted high pass that dipped into the Bosnian's path.

Dzeko contorted his body in mid-air to meet the ball with a sublime volley that flashed past Courtois.

Conte's side were stunned, but Dzeko wasn't finished yet and he put Roma ahead in the 70th minute.

Kolarov's inswinging free-kick caught Chelsea flat-footed and Dzeko headed home from close-range.

But, just as Chelsea looked sunk, Hazard bailed them out, ghosting into the Roma area to equalise with a glancing header from Pedro's 75th minute cross.

SPORT: Marcus Rashford bails out Man United in narrow win vs. Benfica

Manchester United continued their charge toward the Champions League knockout phase as Benfica's Mile Svilar, the competition's youngest-ever goalkeeper, was embarrassed by a Marcus Rashford free kick.

Jose Mourinho arrived at his former club looking to make it three victories from as many Group A matches, with a chance to bring back the feelgood factor lacking from Saturday's scoreless draw at Liverpool.

Although unable to produce a swashbuckling display, United triumphed in Lisbon as star man Rashford caught out fellow teenager Svilar with a free kick that secured a 1-0 win.

The deciding moment was a nightmare for the 18-year-old on the night he replaced Real Madrid great Iker Casillas as the youngest goalkeeper to start a Champions League match.

Only tested by a low Nemanja Matic drive in a tepid first half, United upped the ante after the break led by the former Benfica midfielder and 19-year-old forward Rashford.

England international Rashford twice called Svilar into action from corners before trying his luck with a 64th-minute free kick. The out-of-position goalkeeper backpedalled in an attempt to stop the whipped effort, but could only carry it over the line.

Rashford's ingenuity was key and Mourinho will be hoping the injury that forced him off late on is not too serious given the absentees the United boss has already.

Victory means United are on the brink of reaching the knockout phase for the first time since 2013-14, whereas Benfica have yet to muster a point at the halfway point of Group A. To make matters worse, they will be without captain Luisao at Old Trafford after his late sending-off.

Benfica's already precarious position meant it was bold to plump for Svilar in goal - a player whose unorthodox diving header clearance was the most exciting moment of a drab start.

It took 15 minutes for the first flicker of quality to bring the first chance. Benfica left-back Alex Grimaldo showed great skill and awareness when bombing down the flank before sending in a cross that Eduardo Salvio drilled wide.

Romelu Lukaku responded with a header that smashed back off the crossbar, but referee Felix Zwayer whistled for an infringement as the match returned to its plodding pace.

There was a brief period of United attacking excitement before the break as Rashford and Henrikh Mkhitaryan missed the target either side of a Matic low attempt that Svilar dealt with - the only shot on target of a dire opening period.

Ander Herrera drilled wide and Rashford had a hopeful effort when play resumed, with the latter soon showing exceptional skill to take Douglas off his feet out wide.

Matic flashed over from long range and Rashford twice threatened Benfica's teenage goalkeeper directly from corners as United pushed for the opener.

However, Rashford had found a chink in Svilar's armour and made it count from a free-kick out wide, catching the teenager out of position as the goalkeeper failed to stop the ball crossing the line.

Rashford would soon limp off to be replaced by Anthony Martial, with the in-form substitute swiftly showing great skill before having a near-post attempt stopped as the match petered out.

Luisao's second yellow card late on for a late lunge on substitute Scott McTominay compounded a miserable night for Benfica.

SPORT: Hazard, Dzeko net braces as Chelsea-Roma thriller ends in draw

Chelsea and Roma played to a thrilling 3-3 draw in a battle of Group C's top two teams at Stamford Bridge.

The result keeps Antonio Conte's Blues top of the table with seven points from three matches, while Roma trail the Premier League champions by two.

Edin Dzeko and Eden Hazard each bagged a brace for their sides, but it was David Luiz who opened the scoring after just 11 minutes with an impressive strike.

The Brazil international defender saw his attempted through ball knocked back into his path before curling in an unstoppable shot from 25-yards out.

Roma worked their best chance of the opening half-hour in the 31st minute -- Radja Nainggolan forcing a fine reflex save from Thibaut Courtois after a well worked move from the visitors.

Though Chelsea capitalised six minutes later, upping their advantage to two goals through Hazard, who volleyed home Alvaro Morata's chipped lob after a swift counter-attack.

Their advantage wouldn't last long, however, as Roma worked a deserved opener thanks to a stunning individual effort from former Manchester City left-back Aleksandar Kolarov, who nutmegged a defender and fired high and past a stranded Courtois after the ball took a slight deflection.

Roma pulled level in the 64th minute through Dzeko, who sensationally volleyed Federico Fazio's long ball with his left foot from inside the box.

Dzeko surprisingly gave Roma the lead six minutes later -- the former City striker guiding home Kolarov's cross from a set piece toward the far post.

But Chelsea were unbowed, and Hazard collected his second of the day with a quarter-hour to play, slotting a header of his own across goalkeeper Alisson and into the far netting from a Pedro cross.

Barcelona: Downpour drowns out plea for dialogue

Barcelona team line up in the rain before the UEFA Champions League group D football match against Olympiacos at the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona on Ocotber 18, 2017

A near 50-metre banner pleaded for "Dialogue, Respect, and Sport" as Barcelona's Camp Nou opened its doors Wednesday for the first time since a violent crackdown of an independence referendum in Catalonia on October 1.

A near 50-metre banner pleaded for "Dialogue, Respect, and Sport" as Barcelona's Camp Nou opened its doors Wednesday for the first time since a violent crackdown of an independence referendum in Catalonia on October 1.

However, heavy rain in the hours before kick-off against Olympiakos in the Champions League turned thousands of fans away with almost two thirds of the 99,000-capacity stadium left empty.

Barca's singing section also held up a banner reading 'Freedom for Catalonia', whilst there were habitual chants in favour of independence in the 17th minute to mark the fall of Catalonia in the Spanish War of Succession in 1714.

Those chants were cut short, though, as Barca went in front in the 18th minute thanks to an own goal from Dimitrios Nikolaou.

Barca beat Las Palmas 3-0 behind closed doors on October 1 as a protest at the violent scenes across Catalonia.

However, the decision to go ahead with the match proved divisive as two Barca board members resigned in the aftermath.

Barca announced on Tuesday representatives of pro-independence citizens' groups Omnium Cultural and the Catalan National Assembly (ANC) were invited after their leaders Jordi Cuixart and Jordi Sanchez were detained on Monday on charges of sedition. However, both organisations refused that offer.

The club have supported Catalonia's right to self-determination in a referendum, but stopped short of backing independence.

"We believe FC Barcelona's message doesn't represent the majority of the fans. For that reason we reject the invitation to the directors' box," the ANC said in a statement on Twitter.

"We thank Barcelona for the gesture of solidarity with the president of Omnium. With all respect to the club, we want to communicate that tonight the seat in the directors' box they have offered us will be left empty, to condemn Jordi Cuixart's lack of freedom," said Omnium.
